On June 29, according to NBA insider Woj, the Atlanta Hawks have traded Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Larry Nance Jr., Gary Harris, EJ Liddell, and two first-round draft picks.
The first-round picks involved are the Lakers’ 2025 pick and the lower of the Pelicans’ and Bucks’ 2027 first-round selections.
Murray’s four-year, $114 million contract is set to start next season, with a salary of $25.2 million for the first year.
Later, ESPN’s Andrew Lopez reported that the Pelicans also sent EJ Liddell to the Hawks.
In the 2023-24 season, Liddell played in eight regular-season games, averaging 2.8 minutes per game, contributing 0.5 points and 0.6 rebounds.
Liddell has two seasons remaining on his contract, with a salary of $2.1 million for the upcoming season and $2.3 million for the 2025-26 season, although the latter is a team option.
