On June 21, according to The Athletic, Chelsea are progressing in their pursuit of young defender Aaron Anselminio from Boca Juniors.
The Blues believe the South American youngster has the potential to become a future superstar and have engaged in “open negotiations” with Boca Juniors for the teenage centre-back.
In recent years, Real Madrid have unearthed talents like Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Endrick. Since Todd Boehly’s ownership group arrived in 2022, Chelsea have been active in the South American market, with Andreas Santos, Angelo Gabriel, and Davyd Washington all arriving from Brazil to London.
Next on the transfer list is Anselminio, with reports suggesting that Chelsea have already initiated preliminary discussions with Boca. The Blues are currently in talks over a transfer fee.
A central defender, Anselminio turned 19 in April and has made just 10 first-team appearances in his career so far. He was left out in May, having started consecutive Copa Sudamericana matches the previous month.
